Your Advocate. Your Neighbor. Your Voice for Kenmore City Council Pos. 2
I grew up in Kenmore, hiking in Saint Edward State Park, biking to Log Boom, cheering on the Inglemoor Vikings, and building a life rooted in this caring community.
Asadad, I care deeply about the Kenmore we’re building for our families - one that’s not only sustainable but also equitable, accessible, inclusive, and affordable! That means taking action to expand our parks and green spaces, fighting to restore our waterways for both salmon and people, and pushing for sensible, affordable housing solutions so residents of all ages, from seniors to young families, can live, grow, and thrive.
You deserve a proven local leader who leads with heart, works with integrity, and truly listens to you!
I humbly ask to continue representing you on the Kenmore City Council. I’m committed to continuing to advocate for the community that raised me.
Your neighbor,
Joe Marshall

Moving Forward, Here's Our Goals
Environment
Kenmore’s natural beauty is part of what makes our city home. Protecting our environment means clean air and water, thriving salmon habitats, and resilient green spaces where we gather, play, and connect. It’s about preserving what we love - for today and for generations to come.
Affordable Housing
As a public defender and private attorney, I’ve stood up for our most vulnerable neighbors. I’ve seen firsthand how housing insecurity impacts lives, and I understand the importance of affordable workplace options that allow people to thrive. Partnering with Imagine Housing and Lake City Partners is a step in the right direction, but there’s still more work to do.
Community Gathering Places
I won't stop fighting for a public pool to ensure access to community-wide recreation and swimming lessons for families who may not be able to afford private facilities. In recent months, I've advocated for a recreation court or playground on the City Hall Property. We have the room to make a welcoming place for teens and kids to play, connect, and have fun.
Local Voices,
Local Choices
In a democracy, you deserve to have a say and know your voice is heard. I’ve shown that I listen carefully to all viewpoints, whether you run into me at the grocery store or at a 2 a.m. Council Meeting. I've proven that I've let your support or concerns guide my decisions. I will stand firm for Kenmore’s right to control its own land use.

Community Testimonials
Get to Know Joe!

I’m a proud dad of two students in the Northshore School District. My children have attended Kenmore Elementary, Kenmore Middle School, and Inglemoor High School. I’m also the proud husband of Leanne Hust, my high school sweetheart, and a dedicated educator with over 30 years of service in the Seattle School District. Leanne currently serves as the head counselor at Ingraham High School.
Together, we enjoy long walks with our golden retriever, Belle. In my spare time, I love cheering on my son as he performs in the Inglemoor Wind Ensemble and competes on the Inglemoor football team.
For more than 25 years, I've had the privilege to serve as a private attorney and public defender, standing up for our region’s most vulnerable and fighting for fairness, dignity, and justice in the legal system. I’ve also had the opportunity to represent the Northshore Fire District, Northshore Utility District, and local businesses on a range of issues.
